Looking for a group stay on the always special Wadden Islands? The hostel is centrally located on the island, within walking distance from the lively centre of Den Burg and 6 km from the beach. In this modern hostel, you'll find many natural materials and calm tones, which create a unique atmosphere and a spacious feel.  

Texel offers you all the ingredients for a fun group outing. This Wadden Island is known for its beautiful nature: close by you will always find the sea and the beach, but also the most beautiful forests and dunes. Groups can go in all directions and benefit from all the comforts and facilities in and around the hostel.

At Stayokay Texel you have the option of staying in a room with your group.

We have 2-, 4-, 5- and 6-person rooms. In all our rooms you will find:

Forgot to pack your towel? No problem, you can rent a towel at the hostel. Would you like us to arrange your towels, shampoo and shower gel? That is also possible!

Are you coming especially for a nice energetic weekend? Don't look any further! On our own property you will find a panna field, a lawn to play games and a football field.

Hungry? Did you know that you can also sit down in our hostel for an extensive dinner buffet? In any case, your breakfast is always included. Do you want to go out during the day? Then bring a packed lunch. Would you rather have lunch at the table? Book this in advance of your stay.

At Stayokay, we are committed to a greener and healthier world. That is why we cook with as many local and sustainable ingredients as possible and offer our meals meat-free as much as possible. If you have any specific wishes regarding the meal(s), please let us know.

Group activities

Travelling to Texel with your group, great fun of course! But where do you start organising your trip? We are happy to share our favourite tips with you to have an unforgettable time!

A SELECTION OF FREE ACTIVITIES

  • Children love the Sommeltjespad, a 1.5-kilometre children's nature trail through the Texel woods. You can discover the path passing the 'sommeltjes', a kind of Texel gnomes. Older children can have a competition: whoever finds the clues first, wins! Don't forget your packed lunch because after all that running, it's time for a picnic! 
  • Fonteinsnol is a real forest playground. Play capture the flag, the Dutch game of changing trees or build a hut using branches, it's all possible here. You won't find any ready-made play equipment here, but you can think up fun games yourself. You can also climb the watchtower to look out over the forest and the dunes. 
  • Pay a visit to the bunker and the viewpoint in Den Hoorn. A beautiful trip to a wonderful place! 
  • A beautiful walk or bike ride through the nature reserve near the Hoge Berg. The Hoge Berg is the oldest part of Texel, dating back to prehistoric times. Via the Skillepaadje, you even pass the old VOC wells. 

A SELECTION OF PAID ACTIVITIES 

  • A visit to Ecomare is an absolute must during your group trip. You can see seals and porpoises there. Birds, fish and other sea creatures can also be seen up close. In Ecomare's nature museum, you'll discover everything about the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site, the North Sea and Texel.
  • ​Visit Maritiem- en Juttersmuseum Flora and feel like a real beachcomber. Experience the rugged world of beachcombing, piloting and rescuing, and fishing. There is plenty to do both inside and outside the grounds!
  • Super exciting but super fun: Klimmen EnZo, Texel's climbing park. Experience this spectacle at great height!
  • Shrimp fishing and seal spotting with TX10 or TX20. A must, because nothing tastes better than a shrimp you've caught straight from the sea. Who knows, you might even spot a seal!
