It’s quite surprising to discover that grapes for winemaking grow in the Netherlands. Take the Zessprong vineyard in Joppe for example. The first vines were planted in 2009 and now, grapes are harvested every year.
If you would like to know what this Dutch wine tastes like, then you’ll have to sign up for a tasting session and guided tour. You can taste wines such as Cabertin, a full red with a dark, ruby colour. It has an aroma of forest fruits, blackcurrant and raspberries. White-wine lovers can taste Johanniter, a fruity, dry wine. The proprietors Hans and Dies will show you around the source of their delicious drinks: the vineyard with its thousand vines.

In 2013 and 2014 the wines of Zessprong vineyard were awarded prizes at the AWC Vienna, the world’s largest international wine-tasting competition.
