Cycle routes around the Veluwe

De Veluwe: one of the most beautiful regions of the Netherlands. And what's a better way to explore the area than on two wheels?

We all have our daily routes to follow. But if you're looking for some inspiration, then Fietsnetwerk.nl have already done the legwork for you.

Here are a few fun routes around the Veluwe to follow. Not only is there plenty of nature to see, but our hostels in Apeldoorn & Arnhem are great jumping-off points. So yeah, we might be a bit partial. 😉

'Deelerwoud and Veluwezoom' Route

A route through two nature reserves: National Park Veluwezoom and the Deelerwoud. See vast forests alternating with endless heathland and birds such as yellowhammer, wheatear and raven.

'Over the Veluwe' Route

With this cycle route, you are guaranteed a whole day enjoying the varied landscape. Or split it over several days and make a weekend of it.

Hey, did you know?

The total area of the Veluwe nature reserve is 912 square kilometers(!). That is incredibly large! Not for nothing that the Veluwe belongs to one of the largest nature reserves in northwestern Europe. Guaranteed cycling fun 😉
