Masterpieces in Mauritshuis

If you’d like to admire Girl With the Pearl Earring, you must visit the Mauritshuis; the location of this famous work by Vermeer.

The pearl in Girl With the Pearl Earring has been extensively researched. There’s one thing all researchers agree on: it wasn’t a real pearl. Conclusion: there was no such thing as pearl farms in the 17^th century. It’s more likely that this is a metal earring, made of silver or polished tin.
