In museum Huis van Hilde, you’ll go on a journey of discovery through the archaeology of the province of Noord-Holland. Boring? Seriously! So be sure to bring the kids, because they can become the archaeologists and make special discoveries of their own.
The permanent collection of Huis van Hilde is focused on the archaeology and history of the inhabitants of the Noord-Holland province and houses over 1,000 archaeological findings. Think of jewellery and amulets, weapons, tools and cookware and utensils. The objects are linked to the reconstructed human figures from various periods, such as the Alkmaarse Brecht, Cees the Stone Age man and Hilde from Castricum. This makes the archaeological story come to life. The museum also always has a temporary exhibit.
