Noordwijk has it all; people are drawn to the sandy beach and dunes and it’s a great base from which to explore the bulb-growing area. For example, you can cycle to the village of Lisse, which receives more than a million visitors every spring due to the Keukenhof flower gardens. There is much more to Lisse of course as it is surrounded by bulb fields and the Kaag Lakes, and you are only a few minutes away from other charming villages such as Sassenheim and Voorhout.

In 1857 the designers of the Vondelpark in Amsterdam, Jan David Zocher and Louis Paul Zocher redesigned t park around Keukenhof Castle. They used an English landscape style, which is still the basis of De Keukenhof.
